There has been an increase in the theft of scrap metal in the area as the price of metals begins to rise on the world market...
...everyone in Earls Barton is warned to keep an eye open for scrap metal thieves who may be operating in the area. And you'd be surprised at just what they may steal.
One person whose business has been burgled to the tune of £600 warns:
" Do not entice these people by leaving any form of metallic scrap near your home or place of work - it will only encourage them into the village for easy pickings."
If you do have something metallic to dispose of, please use the Local Council facilities.
If anyone does offer to carry something away for you, ask to see their Commercial Waste Carriers Licence.
If they cannot show it to you, avoid them like the plague...
